Kiyomizu Temple 清水寺 

It’s one of the most popular sightseeing spot in Kyoto.

Its view changes so beautifully with cherry blossom trees in spring, colored leaves in fall and snow in winter. Pottery Market Festival is held in August, if you are interested in Japanese traditional potteries, you should check it out!

Arashiyama 嵐山

Arashiyama is famous with bamboo forest and Togetsu Bridge. 

I highly recommend to visit there in fall. It would be really crowded but colored leaves  and mountains are so beautiful.

Fushimi-Inari shrine 伏見稲荷大社 

You must have seen this picture of red gates.

There are thousands of red gates in the shrine. It is free for entrance and it takes about an hour to walk through all gates, so here can be good place to have a walk.

Gion : Hanamimko-ji and Yasaka-shirine  祇園:花見小路・八坂神社

Gion is famous with Yasaka Shrine and Hanamiko-ji where you can see Maiko and Geisya. I recommend to visit there afternoon because lighted up shrine is very beautiful and you can see Maiko or Geisya before their work (if you have a luck;))

Kinkakuji 金閣寺

As you can see, it was decorated with gold. It looks more beautiful in fall with colored leaves. And in winter, since it snows little heavier than downtown in Kyoto, you can enjoy the combination of white and gold. It is breathtaking.

Ginkakuji and Philosophier's Road are very close. And  Philosophier's Road is long, and there are many sightseeing spots along it. In Ginkakuji, you can experience Zen(one of the Buddhist training ).
