The sightseeing area 30 minutes walk from the apartment is Uji (a train station from JR Ogura is also possible.) Uji is famous as the birthplace of Matcha (green tea). There are many shops such as matcha ice cream and dango around Uji Bridge. 

There is a famous temple such as Byodoin, Mimuroto, Manpukuji, etc. within the range of walking to Uji. Rental bicycles are also available in front of the station.

If you use JR, JR Ogura (16 minutes on foot) is useful. Guests with JR pass are free. Because JR is fast, it is convenient for Osaka and Himeji Kobe etc.
